Well that’s it, another month a ripped off the calendar, just like that! We have a little bit of news to announce this month, starting with our three new employees. In Devonport, we have Andy’s brother Shaun Young who has joined us in the Devonport Store. Shaun comes with years of experience in sales and will be able to help you with…….We have noticed a bit of fierce competition going on with these two already. We found this photo of them both, from their youthful years, with plenty of hair, this sums up their brotherly love just perfectly. I think they are still partial to wearing their mum’s knitted V-neck pullover too. Christmas is coming up boys, you might be lucky and score matching christmas knitted jumpers too, please don’t leave them around Jamie as we all know he adores a good knitted jumper!

We are proud to have Matthew Freshney back in the Devonport building (Yes, another brother, to Daniel)! Matthew returns after 3 years away. Matthew will joining Ashley in internal sales, and believe they will make a great team. Matthew is an enthusiastic professional boxer in his spare time, with a fight approaching in the next couple of weeks. We would like to wish Matthew the best of luck with his fight. We would like to also welcome Richard (originally from New Zealand), who joins Ben and Corey in our Moonah Store. Richard’s role is Client Support and Stores Officer. Richard has previous sales experience and will be an asset to our team. Richard and his partner are expecting their first baby at the end of the month! Daniel and Brett, spent a bit of time in New Zeland at the start of the month, at the (Construction Supply Specialists) they are one of Australia’s leading buying/marketing/promotional groups in the Construction, Mining and Industrial market segments. Pick up one of the F.A.T.P.I.G catalogues in store. They Boy’s had a great time, mingling with members, and looking for new ideas to bring to Rapid Supply. There were plenty of activities for all the members to be involved in, it’s not every day you get to visit a Glacier in a helicopter, this is Matt from Iccons. Dan and Brett, stepped out of their comfort zone this month and tried the extreme sport….sheep shearing. Little did they know this is another one of their many hidden talents.

The Australian Masters Games started and finished within the week. Rapid Supply were proud sponsors of the Wrights Island Flatheads, with two dedicated players hailing from Rapid Supply and a runner called Jamie. Rapid Supply’s Famous Mark Stephenson, (well he got skills!) booted a whopping 2 goals within the week and was declared “Best player” at one game. Our very own Director Daniel Freshney, couldn’t keep up and wangled 1 goal. Well done to Jamie Kunta, for being a very slow runner. We are proud of the boys and the team, they all came home with some very shiny gold medals. Let’s not forget Lisa in our IT department, also a gold medalist in the 45’s netball. Well done to you all with your stellar efforts!

October? Really, how did that happen! 3 months to go and we will be in 2018! Does that make you feel old? So, it’s been a bit of a busy month here at Rapid Supply, and a long month, having to put up with our little nervous little wreck named Andy. If you haven’t been following so far Andy is a one eyed Richmond supporter. We all got into the spirit the Friday before GF by turning up wearing footy colours, you may have already seen the photo on Facebook. Us at Rapid Supply are ecstatic that Richmond got up on GF as it kept Andy in a good mood for at least 3 days! A few Saturday’s ago we had our AGM in Launceston. We are grateful to Geoff from the CSS for being part of the day as a guest speaker he had lots of valuable information to share. Andy of course had to get back home in time to make it for the Geelong v Richmond game, he Fred Flinstoned his way out of there, that quick. The drive home with him was pretty entertaining, he was as nervous as a mouse in a cathouse, his little legs were going like a jackhammer all the way back to Devonport, and not a word spoken. When we arrived back in to sunny Devonport, we stopped to drop him home, he proceeded to open the car door, but little did he know the child locks were on. That was no problem for contortionist Andy, he was basically out through the back window before we could even click our seat belts off to open the door for him, GONE!!

As the afternoon commenced in Launceston, we moved on to the bowling alley, where the skills of our staff members were unknown. We would like to applaud Jamie for his dominating striking skills, he is the “Strike King” and salute Abbey as she stands proud to be known as the “Gutter Queen”. It proceeded to become an entertaining evening at the Jail house Grill, especially when Stevo our Purchasing Officer, felt the importance to give all staff a crash course on his most valuable dance moves. For your own safety, please stay clear of him on the dance floor! Lisa who looks after our Rapid Network also turned 80, Lisa looked pretty surprised at this too! Have to say though doesn’t Lisa look great for 80, and its all natural!

We also had our Stock Clearance Flash Sale which was rather successful. It was great to have a general clean of our showroom to push old stock out the door to make room for some new lines. In the future this is something we would like to take the opportunity to do more of, so you can land a bargain, and we can just have a good clean. We also had the new Milwaukee bus there for the day, all kitted out. The ute is available for site visits, so if you have a company and would like to try out some new products or learn more, please contact us on 6424 9996 and we can arrange a site visit for you. We would also like to celebrate and congratulate Jeremiah on his bbq duties, we were over the moon to hear no reports of food poisoning. Ashley our Internal Sales also deserves a pat on the back for being involved with our video, it took us a couple of runs, with being situated so close to the road and the rail line. Ashley was a hit with over 2000k views, which we believe was mostly himself hitting the replay button, he’s got tickets! Thank you to all or staff, customers and suppliers that made the day successful. See what I was saying about Ash earlier, here he is testing out the new battery operated SDS Max Drill from Milwaukee.

The most pressing matter that we need to report this month that’s been all over the news Globally is………Redheads are about to die out, they could be extinct by 2060!! This is dyer news for our co-worker Jamie Kunta. Jamie himself has a full head of beautiful red locks. Now…. I am positive and I am sure that Jamie feels the same, a lot of staff members are very jealous of his dazzling ginger hair, mostly because the other men around here are receding or bald. Jamie on the other hand is ageing gracefully with a full head of hair, it doesn’t matter the colour of his hair, at least he has hair. Jamie - please listen to the experts though, you have two children already, and you didn’t produce little redheads, this headline could very well be true….or…. you’re just a failure to the ginger community?? Also, just while I remember Jamie is now a member to the Linked In platform, please look him up and connect with him, he’d be happier than that time he appeared on the "just for men box - colour black"

We are thrilled to announce that we are currently into the second last stage of finishing off our showroom. We intend to have this finished before the end of the year and will announce in the coming months, exactly what that is.

Welcome to Spring! This is supposed to be the inspiring time of year, the weather starts to warm up, the sun is shining and the days get longer………who are we kidding, there is that much snow, and its still freezing cold! Oh well we are all still optimistic at Rapid that the better weather is about to pickup and feeling very inspired as the next few months approach.

The AFL Grand Final is soon approaching and you should see our Andrew Young. He is parading around the the place with a Cheshire cat grin on his face, and his little chest puffed out, thinking his beloved Tigers are going to haul a premiership flag! Most of the other employees like to bring him down a notch, there is a good amount of rivalry banter getting thrown around, all good fun though! So what else is new? Well we have a few items that we can report. Firstly if you haven’t yet made it in to Rapid Supply (Devonport), due to your weekly working hours, then drop in on Saturday from 9am till Noon, see what we are about and meet our friendly staff. Just please be careful that you don’t bump in to Mr Young’s chest, if his beloved Tigers get up this evening!

In our Devonport Store we have a couple of clothing racks where you can pick up a bargain, all different sizes and styles along with discounted Steel Blue Boots. We had a meeting with our Steel Blue Rep this week, check out these new boots! Perfect for a Birthday/Christmas present for the wife, our Carmel gives them the thumbs up! They are also available in a beautiful Navy and Purple colour too.

Most people have heard of Rapid Supply but don't really know what it is we do, so hopefully our website will help provide you with the information you need, and if you need extra info, well we are only on the other end of the phone, or do not hesitate to drop in to our Devonport or Moonah Store.

Every couple of weeks, we would like to keep you up to date with our current promos, new products and what's been happening in house. Ideally I would love to sit down with you individually over a latte and a farmhouse pie from the near by Spreyton bakery and discuss these products, but I think that would be way too devastating to my figure, so a blog seems like the most effective way to start.
